Mayor Nash retiring, two councillors running to replace him

Monday is Nomination Day for next month's municipal election.

One name you won't see on the ballot on October 16 is Fred Nash.

Nash is retiring as the Mayor of Rocky Mountain House after seven years, saying he's stepping away after a family decision. 

Current weather conditions help lift fire restriction

The Fire Restriction that was in place for the Rocky Mountain House Forest Area has been lifted as of 6 p.m. Wednesday.
 
The fire restriction was in place for the town of Rocky Mountain House, Clearwater County, the village of Caroline and the summer village of Burnstick Lake.

Two prominent local politicians are split when it comes to who they are supporting for the United Conservative Party (UCP) leadership.

UCP MLA for Rimbey – Rocky Mountain House – Sundre, Jason Nixon announced Wednesday morning he is endorsing Jason Kenney’s leadership bid.
