Rocky RCMP Report: June 4-10

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House (RMH) RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of June 4- 10

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

June 4

2:47 P.M. – Report of fraud by a former employee of a RMH business. Under investigation.

June 5

3:04 P.M. – Report of a stolen licence plate from a vehicle while parked at a RMH residence.

10:25 P.M. – Report of an assault on the O’Chiese First Nations Reserve by 2 individuals who also stole some of the victim’s belongings. Police arrested the suspects who were subsequently released on a document requiring them to make a future court appearance.

10:46 P.M. – Police are investigation a report of an aggravated assault on the Sunchild First Nations Reserve which had occurred the day prior.

June 6

00:42 A.M. – Police are investigation an assault which occurred on the O’Chiese First Nations Reserve. An arrest warrant is sought for the suspect.

2:29 A.M. – The RMH Crime Reduction Unit dealt with a suspicious vehicle parked in a RMH parking lot. An adult male & female were arrested on outstanding warrants and “Failing to Comply” with previous release conditions. Two other male adult passengers were also arrested for “Failing To Comply” with previous release conditions. Meth, cocaine, and Fentanyl were located in the vehicle. One of the males had a handgun in his possession. A Judicial Interim Release hearing was held for the 4 individuals who were remanded into custody until a court appearance later in the week.

7:23 A.M. – Call of a stolen vehicle from a residence on the O’Chiese First Nations Reserve. The vehicle was recovered by the owner later in the day.

8:08 P.M. – RMH Crime Reduction Unit stopped a vehicle in RMH and identified the male driver from Edmonton, who initially gave a false name. He was arrested for obstruction and possession of Methamphetamine & Fentanyl. Stolen ID and ammunition were located in his vehicle. He also has been charged for driving while prohibited and for breaching several previous release conditions. He was held in custody after a JIR hearing.

June 7

2:34 P.M. – Report of an individual sprayed with bear spray on the Sunchild First Nations Reserve. After being assessed and cleared by EMS the person was arrested on outstanding warrants and brought before a Justice in a JIR hearing. He was remanded into custody and will appear in Provincial Court another day. He refused to provide a statement on what happened.

June 10

4:27 A.M. – EMS & Police were dispatched to a single ATV rollover on the Sunchild First Nations Reserve. A lone adult male, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The matter is under investigation.

10:35 A.M. – Report from CN Police of a close call between a silver CHEVROLET Malibu and the train crossing on SecHwy #598 & Range Road 5-4, Clearwater County.
