Oct 29, 2026 | 12:15 PM

A 49-year-old man has been charged following a drug investigation by the ALERT’s Red Deer branch that spanned Innisfail and Calgary.

The investigation concluded on Oct. 23 with charges laid against Steve Tuan Minh Do of Calgary.

Police say more than $135,000 worth of drugs were recently seized from three Calgary homes and one in Innisfail.

Items seized include:

  • A handgun;
  • 784 grams of cocaine;
  • 196 grams of MDMA;
  • 812 grams of methamphetamine;
  • Contraband tobacco products;
  • $30,920 cash.

Do is charged with multiple drug trafficking offences.

“ALERT remains diligent in targeting prolific drug traffickers and taking harmful substances out of circulation,” said Insp. Brad Lundeen. “This is another significant seizure connected to this suspect, and our hope is to ensure he will be held accountable in the courtroom.”

Notably, according to ALERT, Do was on parole when these alleged offences took place, and that was for his role in a previous major drug trafficking investigation dating back to March 2019.

The previous case was described at the time as the largest drug seizure ever by Red Deer RCMP. In relation to that case, Do was sentenced to seven years jail.

Do remains in custody to await his next scheduled court appearance on Nov. 25.
