Rimbey RCMP respond to fatal single-vehicle collision on Highway 53

Rimbey RCMP report that one person has died following a single vehicle collision on Highway 53, west of Rimbey.

Police say on Monday they were called at 9:56 p.m. after a vehicle collided with a tree and started on fire on Highway 53 near Range Road 42.

According to 511 Alberta, drivers experienced traffic delays but the scene was fully cleared by 3:18 a.m. on Tuesday.

As a result of the collision, a 20-year-old man from Ponoka County was found deceased.
