A globally recognized attraction built around perception, illusion, and interactive design is ready for you to discover at West Edmonton Mall.

Museum of Illusions opened its first Alberta location on May 15, offering visitors a highly visual, immersive experience that blends science, art, and entertainment.

Located in Phase IV, Level 1 of West Edmonton Mall, near Cineplex, the attraction sits within one of the mall’s primary entertainment hubs, placing it among some of its most visited destinations and further strengthening its role as a centre for experience-driven attractions.

With more than 60 locations worldwide, Museum of Illusions has become the largest chain of privately held museums of its kind, attracting millions of visitors annually with exhibits that explore how the human brain interprets reality.

“This is one of those rare attractions where you don’t just look—you participate,” said Dino Ganic, General Manager of Museum of Illusions Edmonton. “It’s designed to surprise you, challenge what you think you’re seeing, and leave you with something memorable to share.”

Visitors to the Edmonton location will encounter a range of interactive installations, including the Infinity Room, which creates the illusion of endless space through mirrored reflections, and the Ames Room, where perspective dramatically alters how people appear in size. The exhibits combine education and entertainment—often referred to as “edutainment”—to create a playful, engaging experience. Kim Schaefer, CEO of Museum of Illusions, added: “Each installation invites guests to experience the unexpected—where what you see often isn’t what it seems. We encourage visitors to fully engage with the exhibits, explore, and capture the fun through photos.
