Ponoka RCMP, Lacombe Fire Department respond to vehicle fire on Highway 2

Ponoka RCMP responded to a call on Monday to assist the Lacombe Fire Department after a truck and trailer caught on fire on Highway 2, north of Lacombe.

Police say at 6:20 p.m. they responded after the driver of a truck hauling a trailer noticed one of his hay bales was on fire.

The driver pulled over and attempted to disconnect his trailer from his truck but was unsuccessful.

Police added that there were no injuries and that traffic was backed up on the highway for some time.
