RDP to host open house on Oct. 17

Red Deer Polytechnic will host its Fall Open House later this month.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., prospective learners and their families are invited to learn more about RDP and its programs.

The post-secondary institution says its an interactive event, held on the main campus, which will provide opportunities for guests to learn more about RDP’s programming, student services and facilities.

“At RDP, we design learning experiences that reflect Alberta’s evolving industries and the needs of our communities,” said Lindsay Engel, Vice President, Academic and Student Experience, Red Deer Polytechnic. “Open House allows prospective learners to see firsthand how our programs, applied research opportunities and facilities prepare graduates to contribute meaningfully to the province’s workforce and economy.”

Attendees will be able to interact with RDP’s faculty and staff throughout the day to learn more about specific programs and career pathways.

They can also attend demonstrations, labs and tour the main campus, including residences and the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre.

In addition, there will be information sessions about career planning, financial aid, scholarships, health and wellness resources and more.

RDP is pleased to offer prospective students who attend Open House the opportunity to enter a draw for one of two tuition vouchers valued at $2,500 each.

During the Fall 2026 Open House, prospective credit students will be able to submit a free application to Red Deer Polytechnic. Support from employees to assist students with the application process will be provided in RDP’s Library from 9 am to 2 pm.
