Detailed engineering now complete for Enhance Energy’s Origins Carbon Capture and Storage Hub
The detailed engineering scope for Enhance Energy Inc.’s Origins Carbon Capture and Storage Hub has been completed.
The task was accomplished by Gas Liquids Engineering Ltd. who provided engineering services for the Origins CO₂ pipeline and associated facilities connecting existing transportation infrastructure to the hub near Clive.
“This is an important milestone for both CCS in Alberta and GLE, and we are proud to see Enhance’s Origins project move into construction,” said Stuart MacKenzie, President and CEO of Gas Liquids Engineering, in a media release. “GLE has been involved in the development of carbon capture, transportation and sequestration infrastructure in Alberta for many years, and their project represents another significant step in the growth of that industry. We are pleased to continue our work with Enhance Energy on infrastructure that builds on Alberta’s existing carbon capture network.”
GLE’s engineering incorporated pipeline hydraulics, process and mechanical design, civil and structural engineering, electrical and instrumentation systems, controls and telecommunications, pipeline integrity, safety systems and construction requirements.
