Maskwacis RCMP advise police actively investigating school threats

Maskwacis RCMP are advising of an ongoing investigation into an alleged weapon threats to the Junior high School in Ermineskin, Alta.

As a precautionary measure, and in consultation with the school division, Mounties say all three schools will remain in a Hold and Secure status while police investigate. Police add, however, that all students and staff are safe.

Officials say officers will be in the area and are asking members of the public to refrain from posting photos or videos as the investigation continues.

The Maskwacis RCMP say they take these calls seriously and will provide an update once one becomes available. Mounties thank the public for their cooperation.
