Following Annual General Meeting

Red Deer District Chamber welcomes three new board members

The Red Deer District Chamber welcomed three new directors to its board of directors after the Annual General Meeting held on Tuesday.

As a result, Ben Allan of Red Deer Polytechnic, Tosin Adetayo of GATX Rail, and Erin Peden of Red Deer & District Community Foundation are now members of the board.

Meanwhile, Mindy Smythe of KCB Design Build Remodel was confirmed for a second term, and Matthew Wear of Woodmaster Cabinets will return as board president, while Mindy Smythe of KCB Design Build Remodel will serve as vice-president.

Furthermore, Kevin Walsh of MNP, Erin Forbes of Dress for Success, and Konstantin Neykurs of Pivotal LLP retired from the board.

“We are grateful to Kevin, Erin and Konstantin for the time, expertise and commitment they have contributed to the Chamber and our business community,” said CEO Frank Creasey in a media release. “We also look forward to welcoming Ben, Tosin and Erin to the board and to the experience and perspectives they will bring as we continue our work on behalf of Central Alberta’s business community.”

The Chamber will enter the 2026/2027 year focused on strengthening its relevance and value to businesses across central Alberta, with priorities including deeper member engagement, practical business resources, strategic partnerships and data-informed advocacy.

“We’re fortunate to have strong business leaders willing to step forward and serve,” said Matthew Wear, board president. “Our Board represents a broad cross-section of our business community, and we look forward to working together to advance opportunities for businesses across the region.”
