The Town of Ponoka invites residents to provide input on what they’d like to see in next year’s town budget.

This summer, the town will host multiple ‘Conversations with Council’ events where citizens will have the opportunity to chat with members of council, ask questions and share their ideas.

The first event is set for Monday, June 22 at the No Frills grocery store in Ponoka from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The second will take place on July 15 at the Ponoka Farmers Market from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by August 21 at the Ponoka Arena Complex from 5 to 7 p.m.

Future ‘Conversations with Council’ will also be announced on Town of Ponoka social media.

Residents can also fill out the citizen input survey for their thoughts and suggestions on the top priorities they think are important for council to consider during budget deliberations.

The survey can be found online at letstalkponoka.ca as part of a virtual Budget Open House being hosted by the town.

Paper copies of the survey are also available at all ‘Conversations with Council’ events and at the town office located at 5604-50 Street, as well as the Ponoka Aquaplex and the Ponoka Arena Complex during regular business hours.

The completed surveys can be dropped off at those facilities or in the drop box located just inside the west doors of the Ponoka Civic Centre.

“The annual public consultation is an important part of the Town’s budget planning process. Inviting community input helps town council make informed and thoughtful decisions that better reflect the priorities and values of our citizens,” said Ponoka Mayor Kevin Ferguson.

The results of the survey and public feedback will be summarized and presented to council for careful review and consideration during the 2027 Budget deliberations on November 23 and 24.
