Police presence over at Hunting Hills, Notre Dame and Collicutt
UPDATE: Red Deer RCMP say that a ‘hold and secure’ situation at two high schools and a recreation centre, following threats, has ended.
On May 13, at approximately 11:12 a.m., Red Deer RCMP received an anonymous threat made toward Hunting Hills High School. The initial report to police indicated that the school was surrounded by bombs and was going to be shot up.
Police responded and were on scene immediately as members were in the area, RCMP say. As a precaution, the nearby Collicutt Centre and Notre Dame Secondary School were also placed into a ‘hold and secure’ status while police investigated.
Hunting Hills High School administration and the Red Deer RCMP made a joint decision to release students from school for the remainder of the day, out of an abundance of caution.
