Medical examiner confirms homicide

RCMP investigating homicide in Louis Bull First Nation

RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating the death of a 21-year-old Louis Bull First Nation resident as a homicide.

This comes after Maskwacis RCMP were called to Louis Bull First Nation on May 1 at 10:20 p.m. for a possible stabbing.

Once police arrived alongside EMS, they found a victim bleeding from a neck wound. Despite providing first aid, the 21-year-old was declared deceased.

RCMP Major Crimes Unit has since taken charge of the investigation.

Police say an autopsy was completed on Monday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary. The manner of death was confirmed to be a homicide.
