Updated: City of Red Deer warming centre now closed

Update – The warming space has been closed, according to the City of Red Deer.

The City of Red Deer announced they’ve opened a warming centre at the G.H. Dawe Community Centre for the public amidst the treacherous storm conditions.

Officials say due to recent highway closures and poor road conditions, the centre is available for commuters and travellers who require a safe and warm place.

The city encourages anyone impacted by the closures to use the space and to travel only when it is safe to do so.
