Death linked to remains in Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary in March deemed non-suspicious

Red Deer RCMP have identified the person whose remains were found this past spring in the Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary.

RCMP say the person was positively identified recently as 22-year-old Caden Worme, a Red Deer resident.

They say his death is non-suspicious.

Worme was reported missing Dec. 13, 2024, but hadn’t been seen since Oct. 8, 2024.

The discovery of remains in the sanctuary on March 29 this year prompted a significant police presence, and great public interest.
