AUPE to demonstrate bargaining power outside Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre
Health care workers under the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) are rallying at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on May 14 to ‘demonstrate their bargaining power.’
From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., members will be outside of the hospital, on the north side along 43 Street.
AUPE Vice President Darren Graham says bargaining between Alberta Health Services (AHS) and its members has stalled.
“The employer won’t even consider our proposals, dragging the process to a crawl and frustrating staff,” he comments. “But these AUPE members are front-line health care workers — our patients depend on us and we all deserve better.”
