AHS identifies new cases of measles in central zone

Alberta Health Services has confirmed additional new cases of measles in the central zone.

Officials say at least one of the new cases were in public settings while infectious and more locations may be released if needed.

Individuals who were in the following locations during the specified dates and times may have been exposed to measles:

April 28

Two Hills Medical Clinic

5019 51 St Unit #2, Two Hills, AB

Exposure time period: Approx. 8:50 am – 10:50 am (MST)

April 30

Subway

4121 51st St Unit 101, Vermilion, AB

Exposure time period: Approx. 6:30 pm – 8:50 pm (MST)

Anyone who attended these locations at these times, who was born in or after 1970 and has less than two documented doses of measles-containing vaccine, is at risk for developing measles. They should self-monitor themselves of symptoms of measles and are strongly encouraged to review their immunization records.
