Dec 10, 2024 | 2:41 PM

Red Deer RCMP have made a pair of arrests in connection to a stolen vehicle incident on Nov. 29.

That day, police arrested a female suspect who was driving the reportedly stolen vehicle. That woman was taken before the courts, and then observed the same day allegedly in a different stolen vehicle, this time driven by a male.

For public safety reasons, RCMP opted not to pursue.

It was then Dec. 3 when RCMP say officers located the wanted female and wanted male allegedly shoplifting at a business in Riverside Meadows.

The two were then taken into custody, and investigators executed a search warrant on a vehicle linked to the suspects, which resulted in the seizure of two firearms.

Katherine Young, a 33-year-old resident of Red Deer, has been charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with Release Order
  • Theft under $5000
  • Theft of motor vehicle x2
  • Illegal possession of government documents

Jacob Glimm , a 29-year-old resident of Blackfalds, has been charged with the following:

  • Operate conveyance while prohibited
  • Dangerous operation of motor vehicle
  • Fail to comply with Release Order x2
  • Fail to comply with probation order x2
  • Theft of motor vehicle x2

Both were taken before a judge and have been remanded. They are scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 11 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.

RCMP add that a subsequent search warrant was executed on a residence in Blackfalds, associated to one of the individuals.

During the search, multiple additional firearms were located and stored in an unsafe manner. Two additional individuals were arrested during said search. However, as charges have not yet been sworn, no further information on these individuals is currently available.
