Arrests made after alleged assault and vehicle theft in central Alberta
Maskwacis RCMP have made two arrests in relation to an alleged assault and vehicle theft.
On Sept. 8, RCMP received a report that a victim was assaulted before her vehicle, a 2023 Dodge truck, was allegedly stolen by two known offenders.
Police say the same suspects were then reported to have shot a firearm at another witness near the Bear Hills Truck Stop on the QEII.
The vehicle was located with assistance from EPS Air1, which maintained surveillance of the truck. Mounties say it was observed pulling in to a residence on Louis Bull First Nation. The RCMP Emergency Response Team was deployed and, with assistance from EPS TAC, all occupants safely existed the home and were then taken into custody.
