Sales increase for Alberta Open Farm Days

Organizers of Alberta Open Farm Days say the 2023 edition saw a decrease in visitors but an increase in on-farm sales.

A post on the province’s website says the sales total in 2023 was $299,000 compared to $224,000 in 2022.

Since Alberta Open Farm days started, there have been more than $1.4 million in sales.

Organizers also say there were 133 host farms last year, up from previous years. More than a third were new hosts.

There were to be closer to 150 host farms, but some had to withdraw because of wildfires and flooding.
