Sentencing date set for Red Deer man accused of child luring and distributing child pornography

Sentencing has been set for a Red Deer man accused of child luring and distributing child pornography.

Mark Andrada, 21, is scheduled for sentencing in Red Deer Court of Justice on Dec. 20, 2023.

Andrada was arrested and charged after Red Deer General Investigative Section (GIS) conducted a joint investigation with ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit.

They confirm the joint efforts in the lengthy inter-agency investigation led to the arrest of Andrada.

He was charged on May 11, 2023, with the following Criminal Code Offences:

Police alleged Andrada engaged in sexually explicit online chats with a young female victim in the state of Illinois. They say the victim was sextorted into providing photos and videos, which the accused later tried to sell. RCMP confirm the U.S. FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) was involved in the investigation.
