Blake Shelton visits Rocky Mountain House

Employees and shoppers at Henry’s Western Wear in Rocky Mountain House were starstruck Friday afternoon following an unexpected visit from an international superstar.

The front door opened, and there stood award-winning, multiplatinum-selling American country artist Blake Shelton.

Henry’s Western Wear manager Mabel Mah says The Voice coach was extremely friendly and down-to-earth while visiting with fans.

“He wasn’t fake or phony, he was great to talk to and has a great sense of humour,” she added.

Mah says Shelton stopped at the store to pick up some supplies before heading west on a hunting trip.

She adds, while he was extremely friendly, he was also completely unassuming and would have happily completed his shopping trip without being recognized.

As of Monday afternoon, a Facebook post from Henry’s had received more than 1,200 likes.

“Not a bad reminder that we’re pretty lucky to call Rocky home,” the post adds.
