Stolen Starland County vehicle recovered in Red Deer

Jun 16, 2023 | 11:53 AM

Red Deer and Drumheller RCMP are investigating after a vehicle belonging to Starland County was found abandoned in Red Deer this week.

RCMP say it was just after midnight on Thursday, June 15 when they received a report of a break and enter to the Starland County shop on Railway Avenue North in Morrin — about 27 kilometres north of Drumheller.

At about 9:45 p.m. that night (June 14), it’s believed a suspect broke through a gate and stole a one-ton pickup truck bearing the Starland County logo on the sides.

The vehicle was then recovered, abandoned, at about 3 a.m. on 34 Street Close in Red Deer’s Mountview neighbourhood.

There are no suspects at this time. RCMP continue to investigate.
