Man sentenced in Rocky Mountain House firearms incident
A central Alberta man has been sentenced to 15 days in jail following a firearms incident in Rocky Mountain House last year.
Boyd Beaverbones, 25, of the O’Chiese First Nation, was sentenced in Rocky Mountain House provincial court on Feb. 27, 2023, after being convicted on one count of fail to comply with a release order.
Beaverbones was originally charged with pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, fail to comply with conditions of release, and possessing a firearm with the serial number removed.
It was on April 16, 2022, when Rocky Mountain House RCMP responded to a report of an individual pointing a firearm and uttering threats at a residence on 53 Street. Upon arrival, the victim had already left the residence.
