Red Deer man fined and given three-year firearms prohibition for online threats
A Red Deer man accused of online threats this spring has been fined $1000 and given a three-year firearms prohibition.
Jordan Redmond, 25, was sentenced in Red Deer provincial court on July 14, 2022. He was fined $500 on one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm and another $500 on one count of careless use/storage of a firearm. Two other counts against him were withdrawn.
On May 1, 2022, Red Deer RCMP received a report of threatening comments made online. The Red Deer RCMP’s Emergency Response Team responded.
Following an investigation, members of the General Investigation Section (GIS) were able to identify the suspect and their location to a residence in the Anders Park neighbourhood.
