Collision closes Highway 12 overpass near Lacombe

The Highway 12 overpass over the QEll near Lacombe is currently closed to all traffic.

Highway 2 southbound traffic is being diverted through Lacombe. Northbound traffic, however, is not affected.

According to 511 Alberta, there is a left hand lane closure and speed reduction to 80 km/hr in the southbound lanes of the QEll at Highway 12.

Blackfalds RCMP say the closure follows a structural evaluation of the overpass after a multi-vehicle collision at the location on Sunday.

On July 24, 2022 at approximately 5:20 pm, Blackfalds RCMP responded to a collision involving an oversized semi load on Highway 2 that collided with the Highway 12 overpass.
