Raptor compound finally opens at Medicine River Wildlife Centre

A long-awaited new raptor compound has opened at the Medicine River Wildlife Centre.

The structure officially opened earlier this month, to much fanfare, and means a new home for birds of prey such as eagles and hawks while they are rehabilitated.

“This gives us nine cages under one roof, so all the room needed for wildlife to stretch their wings, gain strength and be able to be released,” says Carol Kelly, executive director.

“No more makeshift caging.”
