Red Deer’s Shop2Win weekly contest

The Red Deer Downtown Business Association (DBA) is joining forces with Capstone, inviting residents to rediscover over 400 businesses located in the two districts with its “ShopDowntown2Win” contest.

From January 24 to March 6, there will be an added incentive in the form of a weekly $1,000 draw – $500 to keep and $500 to share with a local business. Shoppers will simply have to submit a picture of any receipts of $25 or more, tax included, from any retail store, restaurant, or services in the Capstone and downtown area. Online transactions and gift cards are also valid.

The draws will take place every Tuesday, via Zoom, with a representative from the Capstone and DBA areas.

• Feb. 8: Receipts from Jan. 31 – Feb. 6
• Feb. 15: Receipts from Feb. 7 – 13
• Feb. 22: Receipts from Feb. 14 – 20
• Mar. 1: Receipts from Feb. 21 – 27
• Mar. 8: Receipts from Feb. 28 – Mar. 6

The deadline to submit receipts is midnight every Sunday for the week.

The “ShopDowntown2Win” contest features six chances to win weekly and a Grand Prize of $1,500 on March 8. This prize will be given to the winning shopper in full.

The Grand Prize will be drawn from among those who entered the contest for three or more weeks, during the six week contest period. There is no limit to how many entries can be made, however, a shopper cannot enter receipts from multiple purchases at the same business on the same day.

For those who can’t afford to shop every week, or just want extra entries for greater chances to win, can participate by writing a Google review about any downtown or Capstone business. A maximum of seven reviews can be written per week.
