Trial scheduled for Sylvan Lake man accused of killing father
A jury trial has been scheduled for a Sylvan Lake man accused of killing his father last year.
Patrick William Freeman, 29, is charged with first-degree murder in the June 24, 2019 death of his father Patrick Alexander Freeman, who was 52.
RCMP responded at about 4 p.m. that day to a complaint in Lacombe County. Upon arrival, officers found the elder Freeman suffering from “significant injuries.” He was airlifted by STARS to a Calgary hospital but later died.
Jury selection for the trial will take place Oct 18, 2021 in Wetaskiwin Court of Queen’s Bench. The trial itself is scheduled to run through Oct. 29, 2021.
