Lockdown at Hunting Hills High School following social media threat, one in custody
A threat made via social media led to a lockdown Friday morning at Hunting Hills High School.
Red Deer RCMP say the school was placed in lockdown as a precautionary safety measure. They note no weapons were involved in this incident and that there was no immediate risk to students, staff or the public.
The investigation began after someone reported seeing a threat toward the school on social media. That post has since been removed and Red Deer RCMP have one youth in custody.
The lockdown has since ended. Students who were locked out of the school during the incident were taken to the Collicutt Centre next door.
