Man facing multiple charges wanted on warrant

After attempting to ram the police vehicle, the suspects fled the scene, resulting in a pursuit that ended after a short distance due to public safety issues.

Roughly an hour later, a citizen located the stolen car crashed in a rural area southeast of Rocky.

The two suspects fled on foot and one of them forced entry into a residence armed with a knife. The suspect left after a verbal confrontation with the homeowner, who was left unharmed.

The man then ran to a nearby rural property and stole another vehicle which resulted in another police pursuit. He eventually rolled the vehicle after driving at a high rate of speed through a field.

He was then arrested and transported to Rocky Mountain House Hospital by Emergency Medical Services, where he was treated for minor injuries and released into police custody.

Werner is charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, several counts of break and enter, possession of a weapon for purpose dangerous to public peace, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, dangerous driving, and multiple charges of breach of recognizance.

The second suspect, Bradley Reurink, is scheduled to appear in Rocky Mountain House Provincial Court on August 29.
