AB Munis: How resolutions from central Alberta municipalities fared

It was a mixed bag of success and defeat — though mostly success — for central Alberta communities and the resolutions they proposed at the recent AB Munis conference in Edmonton.

At the conference, delegates vote on resolutions, and if they receive majority support, they will be advocated for to the provincial government.

Additionally, Penhold Town Councillor Tyrone Muller received the Award of Excellence.

The award recognizes outstanding civic leadership by current or former municipal elected officials who’ve served at least four years in office.

Muller, a police IT analyst by trade, was first elected in 2017, re-elected in 2021, and acclaimed in 2025. He serves on several boards and committees, including the emergency management advisory committee, the licensing appeal board, Red Deer & District FCSS, and the South Red Deer Regional Wastewater Commission, to name a few.
