Red Deer RCMP investigating after victim hit over the head with lumber and then robbed

Red Deer RCMP are investigating after a female victim was hit in the head with a piece of lumber and then robbed.

Police say the alleged incident took place on Aug. 16 sometime in the afternoon in the grass area between Ace Casino and Wholesale Club in north Red Deer.

RCMP received the report at 5:17 p.m. for the incident that happened between noon and 5 p.m.

Police say the woman was hit over the head and then had her personal belongings taken.

As a result, RCMP are looking for any witnesses who may have information about the robbery and ask those with information to contact the Red Deer RCMP at 403-406-2200.
