GoFundMe campaign started for Red Deer senior after home severely damaged in fire
A GoFundMe has been set up for a 70-year-old Red Deer man whose house was severely damaged in a fire last week in the Kentwood Neighbourhood.
Red Deer Emergency Services responded to the fire just before 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 3, and on arrival, the fire was outside of the structure and appeared to move into the attic space.
Crews were on scene within five minutes of the initial call and were there for approximately an hour and a half.
Rachel Barsalou, who organized the GoFundMe, wrote on the fundraising page that they are hoping to raise $45,000 for the homeowner named Larry, who she said has spent his life working hard and taking care of himself.
