‘He’s alive because of them’: Mother thanks heroes after autistic son’s near-drowning
A Red Deer County mother says she will be forever thankful to the people who helped save her five-year-old son’s life in Sylvan Lake earlier this month.
In a situation that could have ended tragically, two Sylvan Lake residents quickly jumped into action, which was later identified by medical staff as the reason why her son is still alive.
The boy’s mother, Kiley, told rdnewsNOW that on July 6, she took her son August to the Play Zone Spray Park at Pogadl Park when she lost sight of him while he was playing.
August, who’s autistic and non-verbal, had wandered out of his mother’s sight.
