Red Deer gets to keep $3 million in Housing Accelerator funds, says PM Carney
Red Deer will get to keep and use $3 million it received from the federal government last year through the Housing Accelerator Fund.
The revelation came during an announcement in Red Deer’s Capstone area on Wednesday, which featured Prime Minister Mark Carney and Premier Danielle Smith.
That announcement was for $510 million, which is coming Alberta’s way via the Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund. That money will enable municipalities across Alberta to build or upgrade essential drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and solid waste infrastructure needed to build more homes in the province, faster.
