RIMBEY/PONOKA COUNTY – THUNDERSTORM WATCH (ORANGE)

At 9:41 PM MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a dangerous thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, golf ball to tennis ball size hail and heavy rain. The severe thunderstorm is located 10 km east of Hoadley and is moving to the east at 25 km/h. Large hail will likely cause significant damage and injury. Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail. Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.

STETTLER/RED DEER COUNTY – THUNDERSTORM WATCH (ORANGE)

At 8:54 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time Thursday, Environment Canada has updated a severe thunderstorm warning for South Central Alberta. Extra care and attention should be exercised. The following localities are included in the warning: Stettler, Donalda, Gadsby, Pine Lake, Lousana, Big Valley and Endiang. Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking an extremely dangerous thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, baseball size or greater hail and heavy rain.

Area: Red Deer Co. near Elnora Lousana and Delburne
