Charges withdrawn for Red Deer County man accused in 2024 drug seizure

A 41-year-old man from Red Deer County had his charges withdrawn earlier this year.

Although a trial was scheduled for July 6-7, 2026, Alberta Justice Kishay E. said Michael Alan Stephanson had all five of his charges withdrawn on April 13, 2026.

These charges include assault, three counts of unauthorized possession of firearms, three counts of possession of firearms without holding a license, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He was originally charged following a significant drug seizure on November 9, 2024.
