May 12, 2026 | 2:58 PM

As of 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, all weather advisories and warnings for Red Deer are rescinded.

The curse of May Long just might strike again this year.

A major spring storm is expected to bring hectic wintry conditions to much of Alberta over the next few days.

Per Environment and Climate Change Canada in their May 14 update:

“Strong northwest winds with gusts of 90 to 100 km/h are possible or occurring. Winds gusting over 90 km/h have been recorded over much of central and eastern Alberta, and will continue through the afternoon. In the Edmonton region, winds gusting near 90 km/h are still possible this afternoon. Winds will gradually weaken this evening. Local utility outages are possible. High-sided vehicles will be pushed around by the wind. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible. Secure loose objects. If outside, protect yourself from flying or falling debris.”

As of 9 a.m. Thursday, May 14, the forecast for Red Deer over the next few days looks like this:
