The following decisions were made at today’s city council meeting.

CONSENT:   Zoning Bylaw Amendment 3357E – 2026 – Capstone Amendments 

  • City Council gave first reading to rezone lands within Capstone to align with new subdivision boundaries and existing uses.

Zoning Bylaw Amendment 3357/U-2026 – Rezoning Professional Office in I-I

  • City Council gave first reading to a zoning bylaw amendment to add Professional Office as a use in the I-I zone.

PUBLIC HEARINGS: 

Bylaw 3299/A-2026 and Zoning Bylaw Amendment 3357/F-2026 – Rezoning a Portion of 2820 40 Avenue from A-1 to C-4

  • City Council approved second and third reading of Bower Woods rezoning Bylaw 3357/F-2026 following a public hearing at today’s meeting. 
  • This rezoning relates to a portion of undeveloped land located at 2820 40 Avenue.
  • The change rezones the land from A-1 Future Urban Development Zone to C-4 Major Arterial Commercial Zone, allowing for future commercial development. 
  • This decision aligns with the recently adopted Bower Woods Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (NASP).

Zoning Bylaw Amendment 3357/Q-2026 to Rezone a portion of land in the Evergreen neighbourhood from R-N to R-M and A-1 to P-1

  • City Council approved second and third reading of a zoning bylaw amendment to rezone a portion of land in the Evergreen neighbourhood from R-N to R-M and A-1 to –P-1.
  • This means the Evergreen neighbourhood can now move forward with a different type of residential and public space development.
  • This approval came following a public hearing held at today’s City Council meeting.
