Town of Ponoka invites residents to register their bicycles

Apr 7, 2026 | 1:16 PM

The Town of Ponoka is inviting the public to register their bicycles now that spring has arrived.

The town and the RCMP partnered to create an online bike registry that helps return stolen bikes to their owners.

Those interested can register their bikes on the town website by signing up or logging in to your town recreation account at ponoka.ca/register-your-bike.

You can also register in person at the Ponoka Aquaplex or the Ponoka Arena Complex, or by phone at 403-783-0131.

When registering your bike, you will be asked to provide the bike’s make, model, and serial number, as well as your contact information.

In the event your bike is stolen, report it to the RCMP, and your bike registry profile will be shared with the police.

To report your stolen bike, call 310-RCMP (7267), through the Alberta RCMP app, or online at Ocre-sielc.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/alberta/en.

Police say reporting your stolen bike is necessary to place an insurance claim or to collect your bike from any law enforcement agency that may recover your bike.
