Lacombe Police Service arrest two on drug related charges following traffic stop

The Lacombe Police Services have arrested two people and seized drugs following a traffic stop last week.

Police say on June 12 at 8:05 p.m., the officers conducted a traffic stop in a parking lot of a local business near the intersection of Woodland Drive and Highway 2A.

They pulled over the vehicle after witnessing a traffic-related offence.

During the stop, Lacombe police observed unstamped cigarettes, which led officer to search the vehicle.

This led them to find and seize methamphetamine.

As a result, a 41-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man from Maskwacis were arrested.

The man was charged with possession of a controlled substance and two counts of breach of a probation order.

Meanwhile, the woman was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Both occupants of the vehicle have been released with conditions and can be identified once charges are sworn before the courts.
