Penhold Cares Blood Drive now underway
The Town of Penhold and Canadian Blood Services announced the third annual Penhold Cares Blood Drive has begun.
From Feb. 1 to 28, the campaign encourages residents, businesses, service groups, and neighbouring municipalities to give blood in honour of Penhold resident Josephine Michaluk, who holds the world record for most whole blood donations by a female.
Those who give blood will participate, and donations will be tracked through Canadian Blood Services’ Partners for Life (PFL) program. This allows municipalities to compete as teams for the Penhold Cares Campaign Trophy, awarded to the municipality that brings in the most donation points.
All donations made at the Canadian Blood Services Red Deer donor centre during the campaign will count toward the Penhold Cares Campaign Trophy.
