511 Alberta issued a Hazardous Road Conditions Alert for south central Alberta Wednesday afternoon.

Officials say severe winter weather is making safe travel impossible. Area highways and roads may be closed without notice, and emergency service may not be available in some areas.

Area: This alert is in effect for areas north and east of Calgary, as far north as Olds and as far east as Youngstown.
