Blowing Snow Advisory

City crews tackling the wintry conditions

Dec 17, 2025 | 2:02 PM

Red Deer motorists can expect to see city crews on local roadways Wednesday while drivers grapple with poor weather and road conditions.

The City says crews will be working throughout the snowfall, clearing arterials, hills and bridges, as well as sidewalks, bus stops, stairs and trails.

With the city and surrounding area currently under a Blowing Snow Advisory (ended Wednesday afternoon), and the forecast calling for roughly 10 cm of snow in the next 24-48 hours, residents are encouraged to please give yourself lots of extra time to get to where you’re going and drive to the road conditions.

If you experience an issue throughout your commute, however, please call 403-342-8238 to log a service request with the city. Officials say crews will provide traction control materials to icy spots, and intersections on arterial and residential roads.
