Grey Wooded Forage Assn. to host beef information session near Stettler

Grey Wooded Forage Association will be hosting an information session focused on raising beef at a farm in near Stettler on Aug. 20.

The public is invited to an exclusive visit to Neilson Signature Beef.

Hosted by Lance and Karyn Neilson, the session will show how the owners and operators have become renowned for their dedication to quality and innovation in the beef industry.

Topics being covered include:

Heifer development excellence, including the Nielson’s collaboration with Olds College, where pioneering projects on heifer acclimation, weaning methods, embryo transfer, and calf stimulation are transforming industry practices.
Direct beef marketing, such as the Alberta BBQ Box initiative, an innovative direct-to-consumer sales model originating from Neilson’s farm. This initiative ensures that all beef sold is born and raised on their farm, free from antibiotics and hormone implants.
Exclusive farm insights, where visitors will hear firsthand from Lance and Karyn about their journey, values, and the sustainable practices that define Neilson Signature Beef.
