Local participants to compete at Alberta U19 Golf Championship

Young golfers from across the province will be competing at the Alberta U19 Golf Championship at the Olds Golf Club starting July 9.

The tournament’s defending female champion is 15-year-old Red Deer golfer Eileen Park, who won the 2023 Girls’ U19 Golf Championship.

While not scheduled to be at the Olds tournament, Park has had a strong season, including winning the 2024 Alberta Women’s Amateur Championship in Calgary.

Red Deer’s Raylee Denton, Casey Silva, and Michael Song, along with Sylvan Lake’s Brady Durkin, and Innisfail’s Sean Kelly and Brae Rogalczyk will be among young central Alberta golfers taking part in the tournament.

Organizers say players must be under the age of 19 as of August 1, 2024.

Alberta U19 Golf Championship runs until July 11.
