Sylvan Lake council awards tenders for projects regarding Phase 4 of Pogadl Park

Sylvan Lake town council awarded tenders for a pair of projects heading into Phase 4 of Pogadl Park.

At Tuesday’s regular council meeting, they awarded two separate tenders for the pickleball courts and the multipurpose field.

According to the town administration, Phase 4 construction is a multi-year project that will take place from 2026 through to 2027 and includes six pickleball courts, a multipurpose field, irrigation, roads and a parking lot, street lighting, and trails. Administration added that this project is sufficiently funded by the capital budget.

Regarding the pickleball courts, the council awarded tender to Border Paving Ltd.

They were one of three companies that submitted a bid and had the best overall score based on the evaluation criteria determined by the town’s consultant, 818 Studio, and a price of $590,282.70.

This comes after administration sent out a request for tender on Feb. 10, which closed on March 5.

Meanwhile, for the multipurpose field, the council awarded tender to Delta Valley Landscaping.

They were one of five companies that submitted a bid after a request for tender was posted on March 9.

They had the best overall score based on the evaluation criteria and a price of $3,739,027.72.

According to the administration, the scope of the work for the multipurpose field includes excavation, drainage, artificial turf field system, football field goals and soccer nets, electrical and communications conduit, fencing, concrete spectator area and border, berm construction and soft landscaping.
