Red Deer and Sylvan Lake Cruise Nights return for 2024

Apr 30, 2024 | 11:24 AM

Red Deer and Sylvan Lake Cruise Night, a popular weekly gathering for car enthusiasts returns for 2024.

In Red Deer, the weekly Cruise Night will happen Thursdays in Parkland Mall’s northeast parking lot from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. starting May 2, 2024.

In Sylvan Lake, the event will happen in the parking lot across from the Sylvan Lake Health Centre every Friday from May to October from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Red Deer & Sylvan Lake Cruise Night CEO Dave Burden says around 300 vehicles would show up at a typical Cruise Night in Red Deer; a little less so far in Sylvan Lake.

“We’ve only been doing Sylvan Cruise Night for a couple years, so it only has a small following on Fridays,” says Burden. “I think our top number last year in Sylvan was 50.”

Burden adds that along with it’s family-friendly atmosphere, Cruise Nights feature food trucks, occasional live music and a chance for anyone to show off their ride.

“The main thing we look at is pride in your ride,” says Burden. “If you’re proud of your ride and you really like it, we’re sure that somebody else will really like it as well.”

Along with the weekly gatherings, Cruise Night will be hitting the road this summer at many events throughout central Alberta.
