Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) Athletics have announced Zoey Longman and Ben House, from Queens and Kings Indoor Track, as The Gutter RDP Athletes of the Week

Zoey Longman – Sylvan Lake, AB
Program – Legal Assistant (1^st year)

Zoey Longman had an outstanding weekend for the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens at the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Indoor Track Championships in Edmonton.

Officials say the talented runner from Sylvan Lake made significant contributions to the Queens’ gold medal victory. Longman (8.34), who is a Legal Assistant student, earned silver in the women’s 60 m final. She was also a member of the Queens 4 x 400 m relay team (4:19.65) that won gold.

Longman was named the ACAC Women’s Indoor Track Rookie of the Year and a member of the ACAC Women’s Indoor Track All-Conference team.

Ben House – Red Deer, AB
Program – Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences (2^nd year)

Ben House helped the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Indoor Track team earn bronze at the ACAC Championships.

In the men’s 600 m, House (1:25.74) picked up silver at the University of Alberta Pavilion. The Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences student (2:36.24) also earned silver in the 1,000 m and bronze in the 3,000 m (9:37.22). Red Deer’s House was also a member of the Kings 4 x 400 m relay team (3:41.82) that captured silver.

He was named to the ACAC Men’s Indoor Track All-Conference team.
